Gurugram: State-Runned NBCC (India) LTD is urging the remaining unsafe towers and structures at Green View Housing Project in sector 37d.
The company – which had destroyed part of the project after the complex was declared uninhabitable in 2022 – has sought a new permission from the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) for beating six more towers.
Earlier this year, DTCP allowed the demolition of three towers – E, F and G – who are already at an advanced stage of dismantling.
NBCC officials said that timely approval is crucial to prevent an accident, because the structures are in a precarious state.
In a letter of 9 September, the Real Estate Division of NBCC urged the district city planner (enforcement) to be approved for the demolition of towers A, B, C and D, together with two EWS blocks, a school, shopping complex and an underground tank.
The company said in his communication: “Given the uninhabitable status of the complex and the risk of structural collapse, urgent controlled demolition of the balance buildings is required to prevent the risk of life and property.”
A DTCP officer confirmed receipt of the letter and said the case investigated.
“We will soon call the request, taking into account safety problems and the importance of Allottes,” he added.
Green View Project, launched under license number 11 of 2009, had more than 700 units, of which 255 were sold.
After an order of February 2022 by the Disaster Management Authority district, the complex was declared unsafe, which led to the deportation of residents.
Since then, NBCC has paid monthly rental to buyers who have opted for the reconstruction.
According to NBCC, 160 of the 255 buyers opted for reimbursements, 78 opted 78 for reconstruction, while 17 still completed their options.
For EWS -all -offs, most of them are agreed to reconstruct. The company assured that the rent would continue until new flats were built and transferred.
The agency also emphasized that redevelopment work cannot start if all unsafe structures have been brought down.
An NBCC officer said: “Defended demolition and reconstruction will relieve the home buyers early and ensure a smooth redevelopment.”
The license of the project was renewed by DTCP in June, extending the validity until May 2027, so that NBCC can continue with redevelopment.
Civil servants said the new request was made to prevent delay in approvals and to ensure that the work is completed in a safe and controlled manner.
