Hello everyone,
Allie Channel joins NBC News’ Business and Economy Unit as a reporter across broadcast, streaming and digital platforms.
Canal’s reporting focuses on the intersection of Wall Street and Main Street, translating complex developments into clear, accessible stories with real-world impact. Her coverage includes stock market movements, major business news, inflation, household spending and employment trends, with an additional focus on media, streaming and entertainment.
Before joining NBC News, Canal was a Senior Reporter and On-Air Correspondent at Yahoo Finance, where she anchored and hosted programming for the outlet’s daily markets, including the flagship personal finance show “Mind Your Money” and the video podcast “Stocks in Translation.” She reported live from the Nasdaq, covering major business and economic news on digital and broadcast platforms, and conducted thought-provoking interviews with CEOs, economists and industry leaders in the media, technology, retail, entertainment and sports sectors.
She also creates digital explainer videos and social videos designed to reach younger and emerging audiences.
Canal is a graduate of Georgetown University and lives in New York City. She reports to Senior Business Editor Christina Wilkie and starts working out of 30 Rock today.
Please join the Biz Unit in welcoming her to NBC News.
