The NBA schedule of Christmas Day has just been announced by ESPN’s Shams Charania. The schedule is as follows: Cleveland Cavaliers in New York Knicks, San Antonio Spurs in Oklahoma City Thunder, Houston Rockets at La Lakers, Dallas Mavericks at Golden State Warriors and Minnesota Timberwolves at Denver Nuggets.

Undoubtedly, the NBA Wolves fans gave an early Christmas wish with this matchup with the nuggets. The competition had many teams to choose the matchup of the Wolves’ Christmas Day. However, the Nuggets are an excellent choice given their recent exciting matchups. This also reflects a clear explanation that the Wolves can be given one of the elite teams of the NBA by giving them their second consecutive and fourth all-time Christmas day match.

The Wolven-Nuggets Matchup has everything fans wish

The wolves and clogs are one of the best budding rivalry in the NBA. Last season, two of their four games were decided with double digits, including a classic double extension thriller in April, where Nikola Jokić yielded a Triple-Double of 61 points. The Wolves in particular won all four of their matchups against the Nuggets last season.

Of course, the two squadrons also met in the second round of the play-offs of 2024. De Wolves have the title defender famous in seven games. This included a shocking 15-point comeback from Minnesota on the road in Game 7. During this season, the two squadrons were separated by just a match in the regular season. Needless to say, fans expect a down-to-the-wire game with many theatrics. If you take this game the Christmas day slate feels appropriate.

With Jokić and Anthony Edwards, this matchup has a lot of star power. The contrasting styles between the two stars always make this an exciting matchup. Moreover, both teams are incredibly well completed and deep. It will be interesting to see how the wolves react to the improved supporting cast of Denver.

In the past few seasons, the front court of the wolves, led by Rudy Gobert, had been successful against Jokić. Of course the best player in the world still gets his own and has a number of monster performances as he did in April. Anyway, it is not to be denied that this Wolves team had an abnormal amount of success against the nuggets.

The wolves have also been able to contain Jamal Murray with their perimeter defense led by Jaden McDaniels. Nickeil Alexander-Walker was always a large part of this. It will be interesting to see if the wolves can still contain Murray and those who will perform other than McDaniels to guard him.

In addition to this, an excellent matchup, the NBA sends a clear message that this is a relevant rivalry, something that is rare in the current competition. Ultimately, this matchup should surprise all NBA fans, and we are probably in for a Christmas treat.
