The Nihon Automotive Technology School (NATS) is known for some crazy wheeled creations, including a Camry-based ‘Toyota 86 sedan’, an Alphard pickup, a ‘Urus 86’ and an MX-5-based ‘RX-3 convertible’. They’re at it again, showing an old Lexus LS460 with Vellfire face at the 2026 Tokyo Auto Salon.
Do you know how Lexus is toying with the idea of turning the LS into an MPV? Well, this goes the other way… sort of. The brave students started by sawing off the nose of the sedan and then modified the headlights and front bumper of the Vellfire AH40. The bumper had to be shortened and the wings of the LS had to be widened for maximum cohesion.
At the rear, the LS’ taillights have made way for Vellfire units (including the full-width LED strip). The trunk has a bit of a ducktail and of course the Vellfire lettering is below the Toyota logo. Then the cool ‘VIP’ look: deeper side skirts, air suspension and 21-inch Work alloys.
Inside, the dashboard and steering wheel are covered in suede and the seats have been reupholstered in white leather. The boss in the back can enjoy a drink and a cigarette on the go, thanks to a table on top of the rear center armrest, which can accommodate two flute glasses and a glass ashtray. What do you think of this… creature?
