The Nationals have picked up a top-50 prospect a day before the MLB’s annual winter meetings kick off Sunday in Orlando, Florida.
According to multiple reports, Washington acquired catcher Harry Ford and right-handed pitcher Isaac Lyon from Seattle in exchange for left-handed reliever Jose Ferrer.
The 22-year-old Ford is number 42 on the baseball list, according to MLB Pipelineand the No. 4 prospect in the Mariners organization.
He was the 12th overall pick in the 2021 draft and posted an .868 OPS with 16 home runs and 74 RBIs in 374 at-bats for Triple-A Tacoma last season.
Lyon, the son of former Major League pitcher Brandon Lyon, was the Mariners’ 10th round pick out of Grand Canyon University last year.

The 25-year-old Ferrer appeared in 72 games for Washington in 2025, finishing ninth in the National League with a 4.48 ERA and 71 strikeouts in 76 ⅓ innings.
