The office, which officially opened its doors in August 2025, will expand the League’s footprint across Europe, focusing on international operations, strategy and development, including media and sponsorship sale. In addition, there are fan engagement events and initiatives such as the NHL Global Fan Tour, NHL Street Hockey and the Hockey Day celebration will also be a focus for the Zurich team.
Jaka Lednik, NHL Senior Vice President, International, and John Lewicki, NHL Senior Vice President of International Partnerships, have relocated to Zurich to lead the on-site efforts, with the addition of experienced team members in media distribution and business partnerships.

By investing in a new office, we are positioning ourselves to continue to grow the game of hockey beyond North America.”

Opening an office in Zurich strengthens the League’s commitment to further developing its organization international affairs and continues to fuel the excitement surrounding the global events calendar, including the upcoming NHL 2025 Global series Sweden presented by Fastenal, participation of NHL players in the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics, and the Hockey World Cup 2028.
The NHL’s media rights agreements with broadcast partners around the world deliver hockey to more than 250 countries and territories. The 2025-2026 season marks DAZN’s debut as the home of NHL.TV nearly 200 countries and territories (excluding US, Canada and others) – strengthening the NHL’s international broadcast presence. The past eight seasons NHL Saturday And NHL Sunday programming windows have made prime time live games available to fans in Europe.
The NHL’s international events calendar opens this weekend with the 2025NHL Global series Sweden presented by Fastenal at the Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden with the Nashville Predators and Pittsburgh Penguins face each other on November 14 (8:00 PM CET) and November 16 (3:00 PM CET).
Mercedes, the NHL’s official automotive partner in Sweden, joins the League’s robust roster of international business partners operating at the NHL 2025 Global series.
