We know that the 72,000 Nadis in our body are responsible for transferring Prana (Vital life force) to different parts of the body. Due to the impurities in some Nadis, however, they are not all active in this process.

To effectively wear Prana and wake up the Kundalini, the Nadis must first be activated and purified.

Ida And Nagis Can be activated by voluntary breathing techniques.

  • When we inhale and only exhale through the Right nostrilit activates Pingala Nadi.
  • Also breathe through the left -hand hole Activates Idad.

Awakening Sushumna Nadi Can only occur if there is a perfect balance between Ida and Pingala.

Unless this balance is achieved, the Sushumna remains closed and the power of Kundalini stays sleeping.

This balanced condition is only possible if the smaller Nadis are often mentioned as Nandrasy That branch from Ida and Pingala is purified by suitable practices.

Purification of Nadis

According to the Gheranda SamhitaNadi Shuddhi Pranayama (purification of the energy channels) must be practiced before they deal with advanced yoga techniques, especially Pranayama. When the NADIs (energetic channels) are hidden with impurities, Prana Shakti (Vital energy) cannot flow smoothly. This limits the full benefits of breathing and meditation.

That is why cleaning the Nadis is a crucial step before you start with a serious Pranayama practice.

Two methods for Nadi purification:

Samanu: Mental purification method

Samanu is a meditative technique to purify the Nadis using breathing control and mantra singing. Here is how it is performed:

Perform Samanu purification

Samanu is performed by sitting in Padmasana posture. Reminded of the teacher, one must think Vayu was the mantra (yam यं) full of energy and smoke color,

  • Inhale through left nostril and repeat the Vayu Bija -Mantra for 16 times. This will be when Vow.
  • Later the breath must be held for a period of 64 repetitions of the mantra. This is called Back.
  • Excellent breath must slowly be done through the right nostril by repeating the Bija -Mantra 32 times. This is called Recharge.

The root of the navel is the seat of Agni Tattva (fire element). The fire of that place must be members of the Prithvi Tattva (Earth Element) With that and has to think about the mixed light.

  • By repeating the Agni ata Mantra (RAM रं) for 16 times, inhalation must be done via the correct nostril.
  • Retention of breath is performed for 64 repetitions of the same Bija -Mantra.
  • Breath exhalation must be done by the left nostril with the repetition of Bija -Mantra for 32 times.

Then one must repair the look at the tip of the nose and think about luminous reflection of the moon while you have the Were Mantra (Tham ठं).

  • Inhalation by the left nostril that repeats the Bija -Mantra (Tham ठं) 16 times;
  • Later breath must be retained by repeating the Bija -Mantra for 64 times;
  • In the meantime, one must imagine or consider that the nectar flows from the moon at the tip of the nose flows through all the Nadi and so purifies it.
  • Later exhalation of the breath must be done by the correct nostril considering prithvi ata mantra (lamb लं लं लं लं लं लं लं लं लं लं लं लं लं लं लं).

These 3 pranayamas explain that Nadis are being purified.

Hathayoga Pradepika, a treatment on Hathayoga, explains the sign of Nadi Shuddhi as follows;

The body becomes slim and clear, the person can keep the breath longer duration, the stomach fire becomes more active, the inner sound can be heard from the inside and the individual can enjoy the perfect health.

If the process is not practiced in a correct method, it will be in various disturbances in the prana that leads to many types of diseases.

Nirmanu: Physical Nadi purification (Shatkarma -Techniek)

While Samanu uses the power of mantra and breath, Nirmanu focuses on Physical yoga cleaning practicesTogether known as Shatkarmas. These techniques are essential for removing toxins from the body and cleaning up blockages in the energy paths.

Common Nirmanu (Shatkarma) -Techniques:

  1. Dhauti – Cleaning of the digestive tract
  2. Basti – Yogic Colon Cleansing

The word Sushumna Refers to a state of ultimate bliss, a still undisturbed spirit rooted in deep consciousness.

The consciousness of self -bladder is of original importance for waking up sushumna. This state of the blissful spirit can only be reached when the breath flows through both the nostrils that flows undisturbed, balanced and easily.

Swami Rama School of Meditation

Insight into the awakening process

  • A person must be free from external attachments, the senses must be withdrawn into themselves by separating himself from his objects from perception.
  • Then Ida Pingala and Sushumna Nadis should not be disturbed, so people are comfortable to keep the neck, head and trunk straight.
  • The steps include concentrating on the bridge between the eyebrows (Bhrikuti) and feed Pranayama together with Jalandhara Bandha and meditate on the Chakras one by one starting at Mooladhara Unpleasant Sahasrara Chakra Together with singing Bija Mantras.

According to Swara Yoga, the first step of waking up sushumna is learning to change the flow of breath with our mental power according to our wish without the fingers placed on the nose. This can only be achieved by regular concentration and Sadhana for a certain duration.

As soon as the concentration of such a level has been reached, there will be a free breath in both the nostrils and it reaches a state of blissfulness Sukha ManaSpirit free of worries.

In this condition the practitioner can feel the feeling of fire as if a hot flow of air is being blown through the channels. The chakras vibrate with pranic energy and the Prime Force is awakened. Later, by regular practice, this state will help to continue to the level of reaching the higher stages of self -consciousness, knowledge of absolute truth and ultimately saving, which is the ultimate goal of yoga.

Swami Satyananda Saraswathi even explains to practicing a specific Asanas stimulates the chakras. For example;

Other Asanas regulate and purify the Nadis, facilitates the correct conduction of Prana throughout the body. Stimulated chakras generates impulses that wake the Sushumna Nadi.
