I cannot believe that I am writing this, but Nasim Nunez led the Washington Nationals to victory with his home running force. The light that ShortStop hit had never hit a home run in his main class career and had only hit Nine in more than 1500 Minor League with bats. Today, however, was different.
Nasim Nunez had the game of his life on an early September afternoon with a scarce crowd. These types of games are the reason why we keep looking, even when the season is lost and the vibes are low. You never know what can happen in baseball. Today Nasim Nunez reminded us of that.
He hit not one but two homers against the Miami Marlins. In addition to the first two of his career, the moment was made still sweeter by the fact that Nunez was prepared by the Marlins and four Minor League seasons played with them. Prior to the 2024 season, the Marlins Nunez left unprotected in the rule 5 Draft and the Nats selected him.
Before the Nunez magie, the Nats attack already shot all cylinders against the Marlins Young Ace Eury Perez. They scored three in the first thanks to a Luis Garcia Jr. Two run single and a 113 mph RBI -Double from Jorge Alfaro who made his NATS debut. Perez seems to wear as the season ends and the Nationals have let him pay.

This was a sense of a good day for the Nats. They only secured their second sweep of the season. The first came in mid-May against a shaky Orioles team. However, this met a rival division with whom they struggled with this season. He must feel really good for the boys. Hopefully they can build on it to close the season.
