Train services on Namma Metro’s Yellow Line were briefly disrupted on Wednesday morning (November 12, 2025) following a technical glitch in one of the trains, the Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) said in a statement. This is the fourth technical problem on the Yellow Line since its launch.

According to officials, the problem led to delays in train services, causing inconvenience to commuters during the morning rush hour. The BMRCL said services were affected for a short period due to the issue, but teams were immediately deployed to address the issue.

In an update issued later, BMRCL confirmed that the technical issue had been resolved at 8:47 am and normal operations had been fully restored. “All trains on the Yellow Line are now in service and will operate as scheduled,” the statement said.

Technical problem in the signaling system

A senior BMRCL official said the disruption was caused due to a technical glitch in the signaling system. “The problem was traced to a signaling error that temporarily affected train traffic on the Yellow Line. Our team acted quickly to identify and correct the problem so that services could be restored as quickly as possible,” the official added.

Aparna. R, a regular traveler on BTM Layout’s Yellow Line, said, “I was on my way to work at Electronics City when the train suddenly stopped between stations. The delay lasted for about 15 minutes and many passengers were worried as there were no immediate announcements. It was a bit stressful, especially during the morning rush hour. As such issues become routine, BMRCL should be more transparent about these issues and ensure the metro runs smoothly.”

Fourth technical problem

The Yellow Line, which connects RV Road to Bommasandra, is one of the city’s major metro corridors, serving thousands of daily commuters.

Wednesday’s (Nov 12, 2025) technical glitch marks the fourth such disruption on the 18.82-km stretch of the Yellow Line since it opened for commercial operations on August 11, a day after Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated it.

Previously, on September 22, October 12 and October 16, the Yellow Line experienced brief service interruptions due to technical problems. Responding to concerns over the repeated issues, a senior BMRCL official said the issues were minor in nature and not serious.
