The new National Integrated Immigration System (MyNIISe) application will be implemented at the motorcycle lanes at Johor’s two border crossings. From October 15, the QR code-based system will be installed at the Sultan Iskandar Building (BSI) in Johor Bharu and the Sultan Abu Bakar Complex (KSAB) in Gelang Patah, Iskandar Puteri.
This is to facilitate immigration processing for motorcyclists traveling between Singapore and Johor. “A total of seven exit lanes at BSI, namely B1-B7, are specifically intended for motorcycle users using the MyNIISe application,” said Mohamad Fazli Mohamad Salleh, chairman of the Johor Public Works, Transport and Infrastructure and Communications Committee.
“At KSAB, there will be eight motorcycle lanes with four entry lanes (B21-B24) equipped with a MyNIISe QR code scanning system,” Fazli said in a statement. Motorcyclists will soon enjoy easier access to immigration with two options for the same functional system, namely MyNIISe and MyBoarderPass, Fazli added, asking motorcyclists using the Causeway and Second Link to download and register for the MyNIISe app on their smartphones.
Previously only available to passenger vehicles at border crossings in Johor, the MyNIISe was pilot-launched on September 23 and has been widely used since then. The MyNIISe app is also available at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (Terminals 1 and 2), Penang International Airport, Kuching International Airport and Kota Kinabalu International Airport, where travelers from 63 countries can enter Malaysia using the QR code, while citizens of 71 countries can use it for departure.
