Joe Biden’s sudden diagnosis of aggressive prostate cancer has shocked the world.
Now, other men who have been destroyed by the disease at a late stage, which were only diagnosed after the disease had already spread, they step forward to share their stories.
When Eric White began to experience testicular pain in 49, he blamed the hours he spent serving a forklift truck at work in a warehouse.
But when this was accompanied by extreme fatigue and weight loss, his wife Megan encouraged him to visit a doctor.
The father of three from Alabama was initially diagnosed with epididymitis, an infection that causes swelling of a small tube on the back of the testicles that stores and transports sperm.
To treat the condition, MR White was set up on a three -week antibiotics and referred to a urologist, who then gave him a three -week course of the same medicine.
But despite the medication, his condition deteriorated and his wife says he started to experience ‘power problems’ when he went to the bathroom.
She remembers: ‘It was difficult for him to start urinating [and] He dribbled. When he went back to the urologist, they decided to check his prostate, and it was difficult. ‘

This led doctors to order a prostate-specific antigen test to measure the amount of proteins produced by the prostate gland. ‘
At 49 he was a little too young to be screened regularly (most doctors only recommend it after 55 years)
Mr White’s results showed a high levels of PSA and he underwent a biopsy of his prostate, showing that he had cancer.
PSA levels are generally measured in nanograms per milliliter (NG/ML).
In general, a level above 4 Ng/ml is considered abnormal and can lead to a recommendation for further research.
The lecture by MR White was 19.1 ng/ml and the biopsy confirmed that cancer had spread over his entire prostate, a small gland that was only found in men who are just below the bladder and for the rectum.

It produces a liquid that contributes to sperm.
In May 2024 he was diagnosed with Prostaatadenocarcinoma. Also known as glandular prostate cancer, it is the most common type of prostate cancer, accounting for more than 95 percent of the cases.
It comes from the gland cells of the prostate that produce prostate fluid.
More than 300,000 American men are diagnosed every year with prostate cancer and 35,000 die from the disease. It is the most common cancer in men.
It is also considered one of the most treatable if it is caught early – with a survival rate of almost 100 percent if detected while they are located in the prostate.
The United States Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF) states that men aged 55 to 69 have undergone prostate cancer investigation every two to three years. However, those with a family history or who run a greater risk, such as black men, may need more frequent screening.
If cancer is found during biopsy, MRI and CT scans can be used to determine whether the disease has spread outside the prostate to other parts of the body.

The whites were shocked to hear that Mr. Whites Cancer had spread to his neck, his thigh and he had ‘two places on his liver’. This made the stadium 4 cancer

Although the survival percentage for prostate cancer is almost 100 percent at an early stage, cancer that have spread two -thirds of patients can kill, according to data from the National Cancer Institute
The family was shocked to hear that Mr White’s cancer had spread to his neck, his thigh and he had ‘two places on his liver’.
This meant that he had stage 4 cancer, that a survival rate of five years of around 30 percent has.
Prostate cancer – also called the ‘silent killer’ – is often diagnosed in later stages because of a combination of factors, including a misleading focus on urinary tract symptoms, a lack of consciousness and challenges in the use or use of early screening methods.
Medical experts have declared the ‘unthinkable’ that the ‘aggressive’ form of prostate cancer of former President Joe Biden was not previously captured by doctors.
The office of the 82-year-old announced the devastating diagnosis on Sunday, and said that the cancer had spread to his bones and his family treated treatment options.
His cancer received a Gleason score of 9 and a degree group of 5, a terrible stage of the rapidly spreading disease. The diagnosis came days after doctors found a ‘small lump’ on his prostate.
After Mr White’s cancer was diagnosed, a suitable treatment plan was drawn up.
In a tap -video his wife says: “[After his diagnosis] He did 10 palliative radiation treatments on his neck and his thigh to help with pain.
“His neck really kept him fit for a while. Then his PSA fell and he did really well.
‘The medicine they put on him was a testosterone blocker, and that made him lose a lot of muscle mass [and] Made him really tired, but I mean, he did pretty well. ‘
Despite making good progress, about six months later, in October 2024, Mr White began to experience extreme pain in his pelvis.
Mrs White said it was so bad that he could not sleep and spent hours in the shower to try to calm the pain.
She revealed: ‘So the pain was so bad, he would live practically in the shower.

The graph above shows the rates of new cases and deaths due to prostate cancer. Every year more than 300,000 American men are diagnosed with prostate cancer and 35,000 die from the disease

The whites hope to talk openly about their story that more men will be tested earlier instead of later when they feel that something is wrong
“He would take several showers a day. He didn’t sleep at night. He slept in the shower.
‘We went back to the oncologist and they put him on a number of strong painkillers, [but] It didn’t touch the pain.
‘So when we went back to the oncologist, they ordered a scan and found a tumor that grew in his pelvis. The oncologist said that we should get a biopsy as quickly as possible. ‘
The whites decided to go to a larger cancer center in Georgia for biopsy and MR White was diagnosed with a rare and aggressive form of prostate cancer called a sarcomatoid carcinoma.
This form of the disease often develops in men who have had earlier prostate cancer, and its prognosis is generally poor. Less than 100 cases have been reported in the literature and the average chance of survival is usually around 10 months.
In her last position, Mrs White reveals that her husband still had 18 radiation rounds for the masses in his pelvis and he is now undergoing chemotherapy.
Mr. White is currently halfway through his chemotherapy treatment.
Mrs White says: ‘That’s just about where we are now. We just had to wait for these scans and to pray to God that this chemo works.
“So please, please, please keep it in your prayers.”
The whites hope to talk openly about their story that more men will be tested sooner if they feel that something is wrong.
