Not only did India travel in 2025, it also traveled the country via Uber. From Srinagar to Kanyakumari, Uber users have clocked 3.2 million trips, covering 11.6 billion kilometers, according to Uber India’s annual data report, How India Ubered. This figure marks a jump of 26.5% from 2024.

When and how India books an Uber

The report shows clear patterns in the way Indians move. 6pm emerged as the most popular time to book an Uber, as office goers, shoppers and evening social plans converge. Friday remained the busiest day of the week, while total demand was highest in November. The busiest day of the year was December 12, 2025, when Uber recorded the highest number of rides in India, and unsurprisingly it was also a Friday.

For Uber Rentals, the two-hour package remained the most popular choice as it reflected short, errand-heavy trips across cities.

Cities that move differently

Night journeys told their own story. Mumbai and Kolkata emerged as the biggest night owls in the country, with the highest number of night trips. When it comes to weekend travel, Mumbai, Guwahati and Chennai saw the highest percentage of trips booked on Saturdays and Sundays. However, travel during business hours peaked elsewhere. Bhubaneswar and Thiruvananthapuram recorded the highest percentage of trips during working hours.
