The Phoenix Suns continue to set up the preparations for the regular season 2025-26, with a few pre-season matches versus the Los Angeles Lakers and Brooklyn Nets for the first time that head coach Jordan Ott the first time he grips on his selection and rotations. With three rookies now in the valley – including a potentially matchup problem for LeBron James – there is many intrigues here.
Coach Ott is given the time of owner Mat Ishbia to try to get this right, and we know this because Ishbia recently spoke on Media Day about the need for patience and to build this version of the suns from the ground. However, if this goes aside quickly, the legend of a suns in the wings can wait.
Tom Thibodeau saw in the Suns training camp.
Interesting is that another former head coach – and two -time coach of the year winner – was recently present in the Valley, where none other than Tom Thibodeau came by to check in the team. Thibs was the last one at the New York Knicks, who let him go despite the fact that he received that franchise all the way to the Eastern Conference Finals.

Although some could say that this is another reason for coach Ott to be anxious for his long -term perspectives in Phoenix, that is not the way we choose to look at it. Yes, there are only 30 top appearances and a lifer like Thibodeau will definitely come in again as soon as the next opportunity occurs. Who does not want Devin Booker and a selection now also to coach with lower expectations?
But with Thibodeau confirmed that he was present on more than a day of practice, the hope here is that he gives some defensive wisdom about the young players. As you can see in the video above, Prospect OSO ighodaro seems to spend some time with the second year an excellent move for the young person.
If the Suns can get their own concept choices to improve in an accelerated rate – especially in the defensive end where Coach Ott wants to build his identity – then the suns will surprise some people this coming season. Unfortunately for Phoenix Thibodeau does not only seem to help them as a Coching Free Agent, because he always appeared in the camp of La Clippers.
That adds another bow to a budding rivalry between the two given the decision of Bradley Beal to jump to the ship there and Chris Paul signed them, also by being rejected by the suns. Every time coach Ott and the group can come with Thibodeau, however, is valuable, so here hopes that this is not the last observation this season.
