Several people were arrested in Los Angeles on Friday, because anti-IICE demonstrators collided with law enforcement and the US Army after weeks of protests against deportations and ice strikes, the police said.
The Los Angeles police said today “there were several arrests during various demonstrations” in the city center.
“Most were peaceful, but again, when the evening approached, external agitators started to cause problems,” the department wrote on X.

Earlier in the night, the police wrote that protesters ‘federally protective security personnel and members of the National Guard confronted’.
“Less fatal ammunition was deployed by federal authorities,” the police wrote, adding that they can cause pain and discomfort.
In response to the anti-ICE protests that started last month, the Trump government used National Guard troops and Marines in Los Angeles, despite the opposition of Gov. Gavin Newsom.

Protesters came together for the protest on Friday around 9.30 am outside the town hall on Spring Street and took a 1.5 -mileage route through the center, according to the local outlet Kcal.
The police said that the group gave itself a dispersion warrant for the area on Friday evening shortly after the commander of the incident spread, according to a post at 7:17 pm local time.

Officers of the Department of Homeland Security had declared the protest an illegal meeting, independent journalist Anthony Cabassa wrote on X, and added that Marines and federal agents used rioting equipment while they ordered the crowd to spread.
