We’re officially just a few days away from Christmas, and as you prepare to hit the big food store this weekend, you might want to take a detour to Marks & Spencer.

That’s because the retailer has just unveiled its range of festive desserts for the big day and they’re officially in stores today (December 18).

These aren’t just any puddings, they’re M&S puddings and the selection includes a Sticky Toffee Trifle and Shimmering Clementine Cheesecake.

The line-up has been praised as ‘delectable’ by fans online who are already planning to ‘run’ and grab one of the decadent treats – I imagine it’s going to be a bloodbath at the Foodhall this weekend.

What desserts does M&S have for Christmas?

First, an absolute Christmas classic returns to the shelves: the Best Christmas log ever.

According to M&S, this is a rich chocolate sponge filled with fresh vanilla cream, as well as milk and dark chocolate ganache. The whole is then finished with chocolate curl decorations.

Sticky Toffee Pudding lovers can now put a new spin on the icon Sticky Toffee Triflewith layers of sweet, caramelised sponge cake, toffee sauce, vanilla custard and British cream.

Next up is a ‘show stopper’ of a pud – the Shimmering Clementine Cheesecakewith a creamy baked vanilla cheesecake base, with clementine sauce sachets and a digestive biscuit base. To make it a bit more festive, it is then decorated with a clementine glaze and a gold layer.

If you prefer something more traditional then there is the Raspberry and Sherry trifle, with fresh raspberries, raspberry jelly, biscuit laced with Amontillado sherry, custard and whipped cream.

And finally, those who want to wow guests can have one stack of 32 Profiteroles, which will be available from December 20 and will undoubtedly be a ‘serious crowd pleaser’ according to M&S.

As you would expect, the pastries are filled with cream and covered with a chocolate sauce and white chocolate drizzle.

The Christmas desserts have only just been unveiled but shoppers are already going crazy for them, with many vowing to rush to the shops to pick them up.

On Instagram, @coastal_custodian said, “Please make Sticky Toffee Trifle all year long.”

As @johcou78 wrote: ‘OMG. Sticky Toffee Trifle releases tomorrow! Utter frenzied panic!!!!’

And @abbietodd__x responded: “I’m definitely going to run out and get the Christmas log. I started to panic because I hadn’t seen it yet.’

“Crimbo day sorted,” @leanneparker30 exclaimed, while @eannebirch28 shared: “I’ll take the lot please.”

“Everything looks delicious,” @kitchenandotherstories added.

Others thought the desserts looked ‘gorgeous’, ‘tasty’, ‘amazing’ and ‘delicious’.

The viral Christmas chocolate tin

This comes after Marks & Spencer went viral with its Christmas chocolate tin, which shoppers said was ‘better than Quality Street’.

The Big Mix costs £7 for a 650g box or £12 for a huge 1.2kg tin and contains a mix of 10 different sweets in colorful wrappers, suitable for vegetarians.

The selection includes salted caramel, Coffee Truffle, Hazelnut in Caramel, Cream Toffee, Milk Cream, Caramel Fudge, Strawberry Cream, Orange Cream, Biscuit in Caramel and a Butterscotch Éclair.

However, the retailer also came under fire for a Christmas product they were selling for an eye-watering £195.

Together with Tom Kerridge they launched a Beef Wellington, which was hailed as the ‘ultimate showstopper’ for Christmas dinner.

The dish, described as a ‘whopper of a Wellington’, serves six and consists of portobello mushrooms, chicken mousse duxelles and a hint of black truffle, wrapped in a whole butter pastry with hot water crust, served with a beef and red wine jus.

The Wellington has since sold out, but this hasn’t stopped people from sharing their thoughts on it, with some calling the price ‘ridiculous’ and ‘stupid’.

This is what a spokesperson for M&S said Subway: ‘The M&S Collection Tom Kerridge Beef Wellington is a big hit with customers – it’s selling really well and we only have a few left on our Christmas Food To Order page.

‘The hand-butchered British tenderloin serves six people and weighs more than 2kg. It is aged for 17 days and is made like in a restaurant: it is absolutely the best quality Wellington we have ever made.’
