He has brought the festive magic to South -Australia for more than two decades and now Adelaide’s own Lord Christmas, Brian Gilbertson, hopes that the sale of his 31 -year -old Thorngate house brings him some good courage.

“He mainly came home to say goodbye to the house, so he only flew in from New York a few months ago to take a final dive and sit under the tree, look at his bedroom and spend some time in the old garage that was a bit like a man from the Cave studio, for he studied his early roles,” Mr Gilbertson said.

Gilbertson, an accomplished singer with a star in the Festival Theater Walk of Fame, said that the house was always filled with music, especially at Christmas.
“There was a year in which we had a family celebration at the back and the neighbors of the door had a party, so I stood up on the side of the fence on a ladder and both back gardens led in a Singalong of the entire 12 days of Christmas,” he said.
