Movsar Evloev wants Arman Tsarukyan to have his sights on the UFC featherweight championship.
Tsarukyan is now the No. 2 lightweight contender after Justin Gaethje won the interim title last month and moved into the top spot.
The Armenian recently expressed his desire to drop down in weight and challenge current and two-time UFC featherweight champion Alexander Volkanovski. ‘Ahalkalakets’ made it clear that if he is not allowed to fight for the lightweight title next, he would instead like to challenge for the featherweight title, capture it and move back up to 155 pounds after a few years.

Movsar Evloev weighs in on Arman Tsarukyan’s featherweight ambitions
Undefeated top prospect Movsar Evloev recently commented on Arman Tsarukyan’s featherweight ambitions. In a friendly tone, the Russian opined that the featherweight belt belongs to him and that he doesn’t want anyone to talk about it. Evloev also proposed ‘Ahalkalakets’ to fight Jean Silva until the former captures the featherweight belt. He told Submission Radio:
‘It’s better if he [Arman Tsarukyan] argument with Jean [Silva]until I get the title. We trained together with Arman. We are friends. “I don’t want to say anything to him, but the featherweight title is mine and I don’t want anyone to even talk about my title.”

Movsar Evloev will face No. 3-ranked Lerone Murphy at UFC Londonand the winner of this clash between two undefeated contenders will most likely challenge Alexander Volkanovski later this year.
On the other hand, Tsarukyan, who was denied a title shot for several reasons, will now have to wait for the winner of the title fight between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje. If Topuria wins, he has no interest in fighting Tsarukyan, as fans already know.
However, if ‘The Highlight’ somehow manages to capture the undisputed UFC Lightweight Championship and decides not to retire on a high note, he could defend his title against Tsarukyan.
That said, ‘Ahalkalakets’ would probably have to wait several months before he gets what he desires.
