Morning training to beat the heat

Morning training to beat the heat

We are now going through a bit of a warm snap, not too extreme, but it reaches highlights in the 90s F (33 ° C or so). This happens in the afternoon and it stays a lot cooler in the morning. So I did all my strength training and drove earlier. I have had several good journeys, including in the hills east of Gilroy and out and back on Coyote Lake RD with my Tuesday group. I am happy that I can do longer journeys on my upright without SI joint or ischia problems, including getting up longer to pedal. I also took my lying photo on somewhat longer cruises.

As I said a few weeks ago, I concentrate on “basic training” during my driving and I had sustained the volume a bit. I have made a few journeys from 3 1/2 to 4 hours and decided that I will not enjoy more than 3 hours more (which I do now a week), so I cut a little. But I still get enough driving to “build a base”. I will keep this up for a few weeks and then repeat the MAF test to see if my aerobic function is improving.
