Novak Djokovic Prepare itself for the US Open without a permanent coach, but his last comments have speculated about a surprising addition to his team. The 24-way Grand SLAM champion made some hints and Journalists concluded All signs have pointed to Monica Seles.

Djokovic spoke with Serbian reporters in New York that Dusan Vemic, who was by his side in Roland Garros and Wimbledon, is currently not part of his team. Instead, he suggested that he would soon be able to bring someone in unexpectedly.
“I smile because it’s like reading my thoughts, but I can’t say anything,” said Djokovic with a grin. “There have been some conversations, we will see, you will be informed,” adding that it is more about the emotional dimension than a long -term cooperation. Yet he emphasized that it would mean a lot to him.
“I think you know who I am talking about, but I will not mention names now, not to do it prematurely. If it even comes up with it … we have had some interesting discussions.”
Djokovic once said that the only female coach with whom he could work together was Seles:
‘The only thing I could imagine is Monica SelesNow that you have mentioned her. Monica has even been an incidental mentor for me and we have been in contact for many years. When I had injuries or when I was disqualified in the United States, she always presented herself during those moments and offered her support and sharing her thoughts.“
Djokovic emphasized that he is not looking for a full -time coach in this phase of his career. With a reduced tournament schedule, he sees more value in short -term collaborations with big names, comparable to his short period with Andy Murray earlier this year.
“I am not in a phase of my career in which I feel the need to have 24/7 with me,” Djokovic explained. “My schedule is now smaller, and it is difficult to ask a coach to commit full-time when I only play a few events. But I would like to have great champions to participate with me for a tournament or two. I am open before it may not happen.”
For now, Boris Bosnjakovic stays in the corner of Djokovic, while the return of Vemic for future tournaments is not excluded. The biggest question, however, is whether Seles, an icon born in Novi Sad, Serbia, just an hour’s drive from Djokovic’s birthplace Belgrade, will step into the coaching role, even if it was only short.
Djokovic starts his US Open campaign against the American teenage leather ten. Tennis fans will keep a close eye on to see if a legendary figure like Seles can be on the sidelines soon.
