We named Dora Vita (pictured) for Kempton in the seven-furlong first filly race at 7.30pm on Wednesday. Sean Dylan Bowen has been booked to drive and she appears to have come in for her debut. It will be good to learn a bit more about her in what appears to be a competitive event. Although she isn’t the biggest, she is constantly getting stronger and will probably do her best once she’s on the turf.
Fingers crossed for Sir Gino who broke his pelvis in Cheltenham on Saturday. Although this is a common injury in racehorses, it is important that the first few weeks go well. If he does, there’s no reason why he shouldn’t come back in the future to show his potential over hurdles and hurdles alike. I believe Thistlecrack is someone who broke his pelvis before becoming a top artist.
Much discussion about whether the last race should have been held or not. The stewards, jockeys, trainers, owners and officials decided that this was the right decision in the circumstances and they are probably in a better position to make that judgment than any journalist.
