Bryce Mitchell made his Bantamweight debut in Abu Dhabi on Saturday evening and defeated Nurmagomedov via unanimous decision (highlights here).

After the victory, he posted a funny video on his socials – a look at the famous “Send two years Dagestan and forget” Joke from Islam Makhachev.

“Send him to Arkansas for two to three years, and forget,” Mitchell said with a cunning smile.

But during the UFC at ABC Post-Fight Press Conference, “Thug Nasty” was honest about how difficult he had to fight to dig a victory against the tough Nurmagomedov mentioned.

“It’s a good thing that if you knead in the face, you often don’t feel,” he said about the first round of knee that took him almost early (video via Good junkie). “Often, you don’t even remember it. Yes, someone told me he kneaded me. I believe you. I just wasn’t for it.”

“I knew it would be difficult, but I didn’t think it would be so difficult,” he said later. “I will be honest, he is harder than I thought. Everything on my body hurts. Like, everything … I wish it would have been more exciting for the fans, but I just fought for my life. Like, I really prayed during the fight.” Jesus, just keep me alive, “because the fight felt like death.”

“I remember that I was moistening for air. I remember that I was hit and saw lights, and I remember that my coaches told me between rounds:” You can do this. You can do this, just dig. ”

“It was a very, very hard fight, and if you ever come in one of that, I recommend that you pray alone because that is literally what I did. I mean, I was not figuratively. I was literally praying,” Jesus, please keep me alive. ” And I fought with all my strength and then I was overheated.

“I can’t think of the time that I had more pain after the fight,” he concluded. “I mean, damn it. My head hurts. My feet hurt. My hands hurt. My arms hurt. Everything was just injured. My stomach hurts. I was just a lot of hurt. It wasn’t a good time there.”

That said, Mitchell is open to combating another Nurmagomedov in his next fight if the UFC is interested: no. 2 ranked Umar Nurmagomedov.

“I think that would be a pretty damn good fight, brother,” said Mitchell. And why not? I have already fought one of them. Let’s just fight all the nurmagomedovs that is there, guy. Let’s just do this thing. Let’s do the Nurmagomedovs versus the Mitchells, guy. And the sad thing is that there is only one mitchell, so I have to fight them all. “
