Milan’s air returns to be polluted. On Wednesday, March 5, the ARPA control units registered concentrations of fine dust beyond the limits (set to 50 micrograms per cubic meter), the average of PM10 calculated in the shadow of the Madonnina was 56.4 µg/m³. To prevent the phenomenon on Friday, March 7, the Anti -MOG measures are activated.

However, the presence of particulate matter is not uniform and varies according to the areas of the city: 74 µg/m³ in Viale Marche, 55 in the city studies, 59 in Via Senato and De Verwere. Outside Milan, however, the surveys registered 54 µg/m³ in Limito di Pioltello and 47 both in Cassano d’Adda and in Magenta.

In March, the days with smog values were past the threshold two, 21 from the beginning of 2025. The European standards tolerate the “wall” of the 50 microgram PM10 only 35 days a year.

Traffic block: who cannot circulate

Compared to the usual prohibitions viewed by Area B in Milan, the substantial differences are that the limitations also remain in force during the weekend and that exclude the machines with the use of the deviations. Not only that, the obligation to switch off the engine when the car is parked, is also taken.

The narrow also concerns household heating (restriction to the use of wood -shaped biomass generators less than 2 stars included, reduction of 1 degree of temperatures in houses). Also close to agriculture (ban on sparkling wastewater) and absolutely prohibition on burning outside (inflammation of fires, bonfires, barbecue, non -fireworks because a pronunciation of the tar has canceled the prohibition).

The Anti -Smog rules are active in all municipalities above 30 thousand inhabitants and with those who voluntarily signed the protocol. It is the site of the Region that provides the complete list of cities: Milan, Paderno Dugnano, Rozzano, Cernusco sul Naviglio, Pioltello, Cologno Monzese, Bollate, Cinisello Balsamo, Corsico, Legnano, San Donato Milanese, Rho, Segrate, Sesto S. Giovanni, San Giuliano Milanese, Abbiatgrasso.
