It is located in The Emroy House, a six-story, 124-unit co-op complex spanning two buildings at 763 Ocean Parkway and 868 East 7th Street. This apartment is located in the latter, on the third floor. There were plans for both buildings filed in 1935 by the Emroy Corp. with plans by Brooklyn-based architect Max E. Ungerleider.
A early brochure for the complex shows the original floor plan of this building and it appears that the layout has remained the same. The entrance has two cupboards and leads to a foyer with space for bookshelves.
An arched doorway gives access to the main living space, which has three windows over two exposures. The adjacent kitchen with windows has white cabinets and a back wall with black tiles.
The bathroom can be reached via a dressing room with a closet and built-in storage above it. The bathroom has a newer sink, but the peach-colored tub and black-rimmed tiles and accessories are original.
Amenities in the co-op building include a laundry facility, a shared courtyard with seating and plantings, a live-in super and bicycle storage.
Jeff Surowka of Abacus Properties has the listing and the studio costs $1,950 per month. What do you think?
