Sixties bred in the Middle Atlantic Ocean made a strong show on the Fasig-Pipon Midlantic Fall Yearling Sale on 30 September in Timonium, led by Maryland-Breds, who was good for more than half of the gross of the sale.
Of the 161 yearlings, sold for a total of $ 4,978,100, Maryland-Breds dominated the market, with 89 young people who yielded $ 3,056,700. Their average price of $ 34,345 was just above the total sales average of $ 30,920, and the group’s median corresponded to the $ 20,000 sales media. A Maryland-Foked was also at the top of the entire sale and recommends $ 370,000.
Virginia-Breds made their presence felt with 10 yearlings with a revival of $ 590,000. Their average of $ 59,000 was the highest of every represented state, encouraged by a top seller of $ 190,000.
Pennsylvania-Breds also handed in solid numbers, with 24 sold for $ 497,000. Their $ 20,000 median was the same as the median of the sale and the best yearling of the group brought $ 57,000.
Smaller shipments from New Jersey and West Virginia produced a fixed return. Three New Jersey-Breds were on average $ 25,000 each, while two yearlings bred by West Virginia were on average $ 20,000.
Top sellers per state:
- Hip 18A Maryland bred Nyquist Colt from a very good female family with Cotillion winner Star Minister, Multiple Graded-Placed Runner Another Broad and his Dam, the deployed lookin dynamic. The foal, sent by Becky Davis as an agent, made a winning bid of $ 370,000 from Scanlon Training and Sales.

- Both West Virginia-Breds Sold for $ 20,000. They were a sharp azteca foal and a mule foal.
