UFC star Michael Page, also known as MVP, has expressed his frustration at not being able to book a fight at the moment.
As we know, Michael Page is one of the most intriguing fighters in all of mixed martial arts. While some may argue that he is no longer in the prime of his career, he continues to impress whenever he steps in the cage, especially since arriving in the UFC. For many, he could be just one or two wins away from becoming a title contender, but first he needs to get a fight booked.
Michael Page hasn’t been shy when it comes to calling out big names, whether it’s in the welterweight division or at middleweight. He has a very specific style, similar to what we’ve seen Stephen Thompson work with over the years, and while he doesn’t always come with a win on his resume, MVP knows how to turn on that style.
In a recent podcast appearance, Michael Page said the following about not having a fight booked at the moment.
Michael Page expresses his frustration
“I’m in two divisions. I said I want to be welterweight,” Page recently told Britain’s Shxts ‘n’ Gigs podcast. “I took a middleweight fight with Shara ‘Bullet’ on a whim – I didn’t mind. Then I thought, ‘Okay, give me a welterweight fight.’ No one is available. “Okay, give me another middleweight fight.” They gave me another middleweight fight (against Cannonier). Cool. “Give me a welterweight fight.” No one is available. How come no one is available? This is literally what I get back.
“(I said), ‘Okay, this guy.’ I’m not kidding: there was a fight recently. Quite a few welterweights performed. He just won a fight in spectacular fashion. I messaged (the matchmakers): ‘That’s a great fight for me in London.’ “Oh, we have plans for him.” The man just stepped out of the cage. I’ve been busy for months and you have no plans for me, but you do for him? Something is going on.”
