The Atlanta Braves recorded it on the Pittsburgh Pirates for the first game of their last series of the season, with the hope of strong ending.
Joey Wentz took the hill for the Braves and started strong. He eliminated the first two batters he saw. He gave up a single to Bryan Reynolds, but then switched Pittsburgh -legend Andrew McCutchen who swung on four throws.
Profar got up, but then Olson took the step closer to his fifth HR season of his career with his twenty-ninth Explosion of the Year to make the score 1-0.
Ronald Acuña followed that with its own hit with a single and then moved to the second on a wild pitch. Baldwin then got up and Kim switched off to end the inning.
It is safe to say that Wentz has not continued his strong starting information. He ran the first batter he saw and then paid for it when Pham hit a dinger to make the score 1-2 without outs. He recorded a strikeout, but then Yorke hit a single and moved to second place in a wild pitch, then Davis hit a single to score Yorke from the second to make the score 1-3. Davis Stal second, but then Wentz was able to take the next batter with a line, but then Nick Gonzales ticked a single to score another run to make it 1-4. Wentz finally received Reynolds to land after a hill visit to stop bleeding.
In the bottom of the second, Ozuna hit a single, but that was the only attack that could collect the Braves. Wentz seemed to settle. He got McCutchen to ground and after he had given up a single to Horwitz, he took Pham out via Fly Out and then played Canario on a nasty slider.
It seemed that the Braves could strike in the third. Profar ran on four throws. Olson turned out, but then Acuña and Baldwin walked back-to-back to load the bases. Unfortunately, after a hill, Keller went to settle and Kim beat it out and then Harris had land. The Braves could not place runs with three walks in the same inning.
Wentz held the ball in the fourth and immediately gave up a single to Yorke, but sat down the next three. In half of the Braves, half Ozuna and Alvarez spread, but then New Brave brett ran wisely and moved to second place in a wild throw and then Profar had a walk. Keller was then replaced and then out of Matt Olson to end the inning.
Wentz was clearly gassed in the fifth. Reynolds crashed and then McCutchen ended. Wentz was then replaced by Hunter Stratton. Wentz ended his night with 4.0 IP who give four hits, two free runs and three strikeouts. Stratton then ran the first batter he saw to load the bases. Fortunately, he spread the next two batters and then released a ground to end the inning without further damage.
Mike Burrows came into play for the Pirates. Ronald Acuña hit a single, but that momentum ended early when Baldwin dropped out and then grounded Kim in a doubles. New added Joel Payamps came in to pitch. He had a very similar inning as Burrows. He gave up a single and then caused a guidp.
Michael Harris then arrived in sixth place and in the fifth field the twelfth player became in the franchise history to record a season of 20/20 to make the score 2-4.
Unfortunately that was the only attack in the inning. Payamps remained in the seventh in the match for the Braves and were able to retire the first two batters, but then Horwitz came on the record and shot his tenth hours of the season to make the score 2-5 and then after an eight-hour AT-Bat to Tommy Pham, the game went into a rainy reduction. After about fifty minutes the game was resumed and Dylan Dodd match in and Pham was back at the first pitch.
At the bottom of the seventh Profar popped up and Olson rose, but then Acuña hung a single for his third hit of the night and then Baldwin stimulated his Roy case with an RBI -Double to reduce the shortage of two runs. Then Kim just missed one and fell to deep in the middle to end the inning.
Dodd remained in the competition to pitch the eighth. He relatively ease all three hitters via two groundouts and a pop -up. Kyle Nicolas came into play for the pirates in the bottom of the eighth. Michael Harris then remained warm in the day with a two -squeeze on the second throw. It almost went out of the garden that went 377.0 ft to the left field. Ozuna worked a full count, but then hit a slider in the zone. Alvarez then flew out, but Harris moved to third place. Eli White then came to squeeze a hit for wise. Unfortunately, this strategy did not work when he popped up to leave Harris in the third.
Nick Allen came in to play the second base and Pierce Johnson came in to throw in the ninth. Triolo doubled a 0-2 count at a good pitch that was outside the zone. Nick Gonzales then hit a single on a ground ball to Nick Allen, and then in a super rare event, all had scored a gooifout and a run to make the score 3-6. Johnson was able to eliminate Bryan Reynolds for the first from the ninth, but then gave up a single to McCutchen to turn on two runners. Horwitz then hit his second HR of the night to get the competition out of reach at 3-9. Johnson remained in the game and eliminated Pham. The top of the inning eventually ended with a Suwinski groundout.
Dennis Santana came in the game for the Pirates to pitch the ninth. Profar was gently on him for the first time. Olson then got up after a hard battle where he saw seven throws in which he only had one ball. Acuña emerged as the last hope in search of his fourth hit of the game. Just like Olosn, he had a hard fight on the record and saw eight throws. But he finally came out to end the game first.
The Braves were blown up with missed opportunities on the plate with runners on and the pitching as a whole failed. However, we saw some positives. Acuña had three hits and a walk, Harris became a member of the 20/20 Club, and Olson is now an HR shy for his fifth thirty -hour season.
The Braves will come across the Pirates at the same place tomorrow and in the same place.
