Michael Chandler has taken a closer look at Jorge Masvidal’s recent uncertain claims. Iron’ finds itself in a dire situation after UFC CEO Dana White dashed the former’s hopes of taking on Conor McGregor at the UFC White House event.
With White no longer interested in this matchup, there are speculations about who McGregor should face next, if not ‘Iron’. And to make headlines, Masvidal, who retired in 2023 but is eager to return and fight again, recently claimed he is preparing for something big. However, ‘Gambred’ did not reveal whether his next opponent could be ‘The Notorious’.
A few hours back, further The Ariel Helwani Showdoubled down on Masvidal on a possible return and how desperate he is to be part of the UFC White House Card. The former BMF head also revealed that his manager, Ali Abdelaziz, is in talks with the UFC brass, and things aren’t looking too bad at the moment. However, he did not confirm or deny when Helwani asked him if he was in talks to potentially face the Irishman. The 41-year-old said:
“It doesn’t look bad right now. I can’t say much more, but it doesn’t look bad right now.”

After being denied what he longed for, Michael Chandler lashed out at Jorge Masvidal recent comments and his reluctance to clarify whether he plans to face Conor McGregor next. Chandler posted on X:

Jorge Masvidal has no sympathy for Michael Chandler
Speaking The Ariel Helwani Show, Jorge Masvidal said that while he respects Michael Chandler, he doesn’t feel bad about Chandler being denied the fight against Conor McGregor. Masvidal insisted he didn’t “stole” the fight from Chandler and made it clear he’s eagerly awaiting his own “red tights night.”
“I don’t feel sorry for anyone in the sport. I was actually with Michael Chandler two or three days ago. I love that guy. He’s fucking hilarious. I have nothing but respect for Chandler, but when it comes to this fighting thing, I don’t really feel sorry for anyone.”
