Michael Chandler responds to Arman Tsarukyan’s wrestling match call

Michael Chandler promises to beat Arman Tsarukyan in a wrestling match. Tsarukyan (23-3) is active in wrestling even when not competing in the UFC. Tsarukyan defeated four-time NCAA All-American Lance Palmer 10-0 via technical fall in RAF wrestling on Sunday. Tsarukyan then called Chandler out for a wrestling match in the RAF. While Tsarukyan is confident Chandler doesn’t stand a chance against him in MMA, he believes ‘Iron’ may have a slim chance on the wrestling mat.

“I see Michael Chandler calling out someone he’s running from in the UFC,” Tsarukyan said at the RAF post-fight press conference. “Maybe he won’t become a little girl here and wrestle me because his background is wrestling. I’m not a wrestler, I’m just an MMA fighter…Here he has a slim chance of beating me, but in the UFC he has zero chance.”

Extremely confident

Responding to Tsarukyan, Chandler (23-10) first praised him for staying active in wrestling. Chandler accepted the call and promised to destroy ‘Ahalkalakets’. However, Chandler hinted that he is still hopeful of a White House booking against Conor McGregor, who has been stringing him along for years.“One thing I really respect about Arman is that even when he’s not fighting in the UFC, he stays active,” Chandler told the Schmo. “Doing wrestling matches, doing wrestling matches… That said, I would absolutely beat Arman Tsarukyan in a wrestling match after seeing him tonight. Now I will say he looked really good, really impressive, but Lance Palmer didn’t look as good as he should have tonight. Arman, I will beat the shit out of you in the RAF wrestling ring. But I have my sights set on something later this summer, I think we all know.”
