Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has made an impassioned plea to supporters ahead of Sunday’s meeting with Crystal Palace at Old Trafford.

Heading into the meeting, the stakes couldn’t be higher for United.
The Red Devils are currently on a six-match unbeaten run under Carrick. United has recorded five wins in that series. They only dropped points in the 1-1 draw against West Ham at the London Stadium.
United’s most recent result, the 1-0 win over Everton, cemented their place among the guaranteed Champions League places.
With top-four rivals Aston Villa suffering a shock defeat to relegation fighters Wolverhampton Wanderers on Friday evening, three points at the expense of Palace would catapult Carrick and his players into third place in the Premier League.
When Carrick was appointed interim head coach, United were 11 points behind Villa. That a win could put them ahead of Unai Emery’s side is testament to the impact the legendary midfielder has had in such a short space of time.

Speaking to MUTV, Carrick called on fans to create a hostile atmosphere at Old Trafford and keep the team’s momentum alive.
Carrick’s plea
The 44-year-old coach told me media club“[Let’s] keep that momentum, keep that atmosphere. I have to say the away fans were incredible again last night, but to be back home and feel that love, support and energy [will be great].”
“Hopefully everyone comes away with a good feeling and makes a lot of noise.”
He added: “We have that connection because it has been great to see over the last few weeks. We have to keep building on that and keep pushing.”
“There are big games coming up, this is as important as ever, so everyone has to be ready.”
United vs. Palace starts at 2:00 PM GMT.
