Mia Brookes wins X Games Aspen 2026 snowboard slopestyle gold

The 2026 X Games women’s snowboard slopestyle podium saw a reshuffling of the 2025 results, with the same three riders returning – this time in a new order.

Great Britain Mia Brookes climbed back to the top of the podium at X Games Aspen 2026 after finishing with bronze in 2025 to earn the second gold medal of her career.

The 19-year-old, who is set to make her Olympic debut at Milano Cortina 2026*, now adds this victory to her slopestyle title from the 2024 X Games.

Brookes sealed the win with a huge one 96.33 on her second run, a score no one else could match. Her winning run was punctuated by a huge backside 1260 over the channel opening and a Cab 1440 on the final jump.

New Zealand Zoi Sadowski-Synnottthe defending 2025 gold medalist and Olympic slopestyle champion, delivered one final run to score 93:00who reached silver as the only other rider to break through in the 90s. Her last two jumps stood out, sending a backside 900 over the gap jump, followed by a switch backside double cork 1260. Her late attack left the Japanese Murase Cocomo to bronze to complete the podium. Murase himself records a big victory at the Laax Open slopestyle.

Brookes, along with the rest of the field, will return to competition in snowboard big air on Saturday January 24, where the Austrian Anna Gasser will look to defend her title in search of her sixth gold medal at the X Games. Gasser, the two-time Olympic gold medalist in big air, recently returned to competition after recovering from a shoulder injury.

*As the National Olympic Committees have the exclusive authority for the representation of their respective countries at the Olympic Games, athletes’ participation in the Milano Cortina Games depends on the choice of their NOC to represent their delegation at Milano Cortina 2026.
