The MLB season is approaching the house, but for Brooks Raley it has just begun.

Coming from Tommy John Surgery performed at the beginning of last season, Raley immediately thrown in the fire as one of the two Mets left -handed auxiliary jugs.

‘There would be [pressure] If I had never played in this team before, “Raley told the post before he threw a scoreless eighth inning in the 3-2 loss of the Mets for the Guardians.

Raley said it also helps that he is familiar with the role, given that he was the only Lefty from the Bullpen for most of his first season with the Mets in 2023.

Raley was responsible for that responsibility as the Go-to-Man to close left-handed batters, with a 2.80 ERA in 66 performances.

He threw eight scoreless trips in 2024 before his operation and has added seven scoreless performances since the return of July 19 this season.

But like every player who comes back from such an injury, he has confronted with his struggles.

“The most difficult part is jumping back immediately after the All-Star break,” he told the post. “Some guys have been working here for three months – I just try to come back to the flow of everything.”

Although he has noticed a “sporadic” change control since his return, Raley said he thinks he is generally “well executed”.

At the age of 37, the veteran still learns a number of things en route.

“You never know, before the operation, how beaten you have been,” he told The Post. “I have always fought things with my elbow and have just found a way to navigate that.”

No longer dealing with “sharpness” in his elbow, pain with which he “played for a while”, Raley immediately found success on his return.

“The [velocity’s] Been a little bit, the ball feels like it comes out better, the movements are a little better, “he told the post.

His return was essentially called a “trade deadline acquisition” by manager Carlos Mendoza and perhaps he could become the most valuable in the right heavy bull pen.

‘[I’m] I just try to find my place and [make] Some good adjustments that I think I did very well, “said Raley.” Knowing that I don’t have to wear any more than I should do because of how many good players we have, it just does my job when I am summoned. “
