SA’s top builders have been recognized at the HIA South Australia Kitchen & Bathroom and Housing Awards.
And the star of the show was Metricon, who was crowned professional major builder of the year for the 10th time.
Neil Bisset, managing director of Metricon, said it reflects sustainable excellence in design, construction, customer experience and innovation.
“This achievement is a testament to the passion and dedication of our South Australian team,” said Neil Bisset, General Manager, Metricon South Australia.

“Being recognized by the HIA for the tenth time highlights the consistency and quality that underpins everything we do, from innovative design to exceptional customer service.”
“These awards celebrate the strength of our teams and the quality of our homes.
“They reflect our continued commitment to innovation, craftsmanship and delivering homes that Australians truly love.
“None of this would be possible without the support of our valued business partners, dedicated craftsmen and loyal customers who continue to trust us to bring their dream home to life.”

Desyn Homes also performed solidly, winning awards for house of the year, outdoor project, renovation/extension project, country house and outdoor kitchen.
HIA SA director Stephen Knight said he was impressed by the caliber of this year’s participants.
“I’ve been working in the building for 40 years and every year they raise the bar and what I see in all categories is really excellent work,” he said.

“There are some really strong contenders for national awards here, I think.
“There’s a lot of innovation there and a lot of high-quality work, and we’re finally catching up to other states in terms of the amount of money the customer has to spend.

“We’ve always been carried away by the fact that people weren’t spending as much as in the eastern states, but now people have more equity in their homes or are making more money, whereas $1 million construction was rare five years ago and $2 and $3 million construction was not uncommon.”
The more than 300 entries were judged by a jury of 25 judges.
