Reigning UFC bantamweight kingpin Merab Dvalishvili, who is making his fourth title defense this year, has successfully completed his fourth title defense.
Although many thought it would be difficult for Dvalishvili to fight and lose weight so much, he proved everyone wrong tonight when he weighed in at 135 pounds at the official weigh-in.
During the morning weigh-in show, Daniel Cormier and Jon Anik briefly mentioned how difficult it can be for a fighter to cut weight so often and also defend a title four times a year, a feat that no one has accomplished in the UFC yet and something that no one could attempt anytime soon.
But when ‘The Machine’ was the first to make weight for UFC 323, everyone praised the Georgian for doing the toughest aspect of the fight.
Meanwhile, so does Yan came in at 135 poundsand with that, the UFC 323 main event is now official.

Daniel Cormier revealed how Merab Dvalishvili’s weight cut differs from other UFC fighters
In one previous interview with CBS SportsDaniel Cormier expressed his concerns about Merab Dvalishvili’s fourth weight cut this year. Cormier told CBS Sports that “The Machine” doesn’t normally spend the entire week, but instead starves himself from Wednesday through Friday until he hits the scale. During that time, he completely cuts off hydration and eating. ‘DC’ said:
“I think some of these people who doubt his ability to do this multiple times see this as the problem. Because Merab is losing weight the old fashioned way too… This is insane. He’s not doing it the way UFC PI wants him to do it… He doesn’t really lose weight until fight week… Then if he likes Wednesday, he completely cuts himself off from any hydration and any food. So he starves himself Wednesday through Friday to put on weight, and then he tries to recover before he does that octagon.

However, ‘The Machine’ has already demonstrated that he can lose weight four times a year, and tonight, after gaining weight, he shouted with joy.
He also appeared on the UFC 323 morning weigh-in show after making weight and reaffirmed that he will beat Yan this weekend and will be back early next year to defend his title again.
