UFC Houston has added an entertaining featherweight showdown to its undercard.
February’s Fight Night event is the landing spot for Melquizael Costa (25-7) vs. Dan Ige (19-10), a fight that should get a lot of attention from the MMA fanbase. Coast confirmed the booking following a recent report by MMA fighting.
Costa is on a five-fight win streak, going 4-0 in 2025, including a Fight of the Night bonus for his May victory over Julian Erosa. Costa, an LFA veteran, joined the UFC in 2023 and is 6-2 in the octagon to date. 2025 has been a breakout year for the 29-year-old, who fights out of Sao Paulo, Brazil.
Ige (19-9) hasn’t fought since July, when he dropped a unanimous decision to former Bellator MMA doubles champion Patricio Pitbull. Ige is known for his willingness to fight anyone and underlined that in 2024 when he faced Diego Lopes just hours beforehand. Still, “50K” should get back into the win column at 1-3 in his last four. His only win during that period was against Sean Woodson.
UFC Houston takes place on February 21, 2026 at the Toyota Center in Houston, Texas. The card is headlined by former middleweight champion Sean Strickland taking on rising 185-pound contender Anthony “Fluffy” Hernandez.
