The auction for 4/88 Northumberland Rd, Pascoe Vale took a rather dramatic turn on Saturday.
A buyer who won a Pascoe Vale auction screamed so loudly with joy that concerned strangers came to check on her this weekend.
Stefan Stella of Ray White said the unit’s new owner had not been able to attend the Saturday auction in person due to work commitments.
Instead, she watched via FaceTime as she waited for a flight at a Sydney airport.

A group of relatives and friends, including her mother and grandmother, went to the auction to bid on her behalf.
Another buyer started the bidding with an offer of $590,000, at the lower end of the asking range of $590,000 – $645,000 for the two-bedroom house at 4/88 Northumberland Rd.
Mr Stella said he met the woman, a fishing enthusiast, when she visited several open houses in the area.
As a result, during the auction he jokingly offered to tell her the best fishing spots for snapper and gummy sharks if she would increase her bid.
The device was announced on the market for a price of $ 660,000.
The unit is located in the Strathmore Secondary College zone.
At the rear of the house there is a covered terrace with retractable café awnings.
The kitchen is equipped with Smeg appliances, stone worktops and gold accents.
There was much excitement when the hammer fell and the home was declared sold for $675,000.
“When the new owner found out she had won, she screamed so loudly that people stopped by the airport to check if she was okay,” Stella said.
A crowd of about 25 people attended the auction.
Mr Stella declined to comment on the price in an interview after the auction.
2/205 Wattle Valley Rd, Camberwell, also went under the hammer on Saturday but died. It is now offered for private sale.
The property is close to Hartwell Village cafes, Burwood and Hartwell train stations, the tram to Camberwell Junction, Hartwell Primary School, Lynden Park, Burwood Village and Deakin University.
The renovated bathroom has floor to ceiling tiling.
In Melbourne’s east, a two-bedroom Camberwell unit received a bid of $1.085 million.
Brooke Warwick of Fletchers said it would now be put up for a private sale with a price tag of $1.1 million.
The renovated home at 2/205 Wattle Valley Rd features a kitchen with stainless steel appliances, a courtyard, garage and use of additional on-site parking, plus no body work.
Ms Warwick said around 60 groups had inspected the unit during the auction campaign.
They were mainly made up of first-home buyers and downsizers, she added.
