While the January transfer window could remain open for most of the next two weeks, Premier League clubs across the country will already have their eyes on the summer.
While England’s elite could continue to break a string of financial records, some of the Premier League’s biggest names could leave on a free transfer.
With many top-flight superstars now free to enter pre-contract deals with other clubs from across the continent, we’ve taken a look at some of the Premier League toppers who have less than six months left on their respective current deals.
Ibrahima Konate – Liverpool
While Ibrahima Konate may have played a leading role last season as Liverpool lifted their record-breaking 20th league title, the France international has come under scrutiny this time around.
With Arne Slot’s side already accepting that they will relinquish their Premier League title in 2026, the former RB Leipzig star also finds himself at the heart of an ongoing transfer saga.
While the Anfield hierarchy may have made it abundantly clear that they want the 26-year-old to extend his stay in the red half of Merseyside, Konate has publicly rejected all claims.
As both sides appear to have become increasingly frustrated, Konate has remained heavily linked with a blockbuster move to Spanish icons Real Madrid over the past twelve months.
Having seen England international Trent Alexander-Arnold complete his own controversial free move to the Bernabeu last summer, Los Blancos have already held several discussions with Konate’s representatives.
While the reigning Premier League champions may have made it clear that the 26-cap international cannot leave Anfield this month, Konate’s future is still very much up in the air.

Casemiro-Manchester United
While Casemiro may turn 34 next month, there are large sections of the Manchester United fanbase who are demanding that the Old Trafford hierarchy agree to extend the Brazilian’s tenure.
While the former Real Madrid midfielder may be enjoying what has been arguably his most dominant spell in the red half of Manchester, he reportedly earns around £350,000 a week.
While there may still be plenty of Saudi clubs waiting in the wings, Casemiro’s future is yet to be decided and neither side has ruled out agreeing a possible new contract.
Reports over the past week have suggested that the five-time Champions League winner has the option to extend his stay at Old Trafford for another season if specific contract clauses are met.
Starting with 19 of Man United’s 22 Premier League appearances so far this season – having missed two due to suspension – it was reported this weekend that Casemiro would earn another 12 months if he makes 35 top-flight starts by the end of the 2025/2026 season.
EXCL: Casemiro can activate an option for an additional year in its #MUFC contract by starting a certain number of games this season.
The number is assumed to be 35, so from now on any XI would be needed.
Considered very unlikely, but he has been a regular at Prem.

Bernardo Silva – Manchester City
While it may not have been officially confirmed that Bernardo Silva will leave Manchester City this summer, it seems almost certain that the Portuguese playmaker will end his nine-year spell at Etihad.
The 31-year-old cemented his place as a modern icon in the blue half of Manchester after joining from Monaco in 2017 and has been a key figure for Pep Guardiola’s side over the past decade.
With 436 appearances for the Sky Blues and 149 direct goals, Silva has claimed 17 pieces of silverware during his record-breaking spell in Manchester.
Silva won six league titles and helped City to their first Champions League title three years ago. Silva has been closely linked with the likes of PSG and Barcelona in recent times.
While the 107-cap Portugal international may have ultimately fended off any interest over the past two years, it is widely suggested that both sides have already agreed to part ways at the end of the 2025/2026 season.
As well as speculation about what would be a bank-breaking move into the Middle East, there is also speculation that Turkish giants Galatasaray are keen to complete a free deal.
Pep Guardiola: “You can’t imagine what a player Bernardo Silva is! This club will miss him! Hopefully he can extend for I don’t know how many centuries.”
