Meadowlands ready for Peter Grandich’s “Turkey Trot”

East Rutherford, NJ – This Friday, November 28, Peter Grandich and Co. back to the Meadowlands Racetrack for its annual “Turkey Trot.” He previously held the event at Freehold Raceway.

This year’s “Turkey Trot” is scheduled as the fifth race, and Grandich will present a blanket to the winning connections.

Former New York Giants linebacker Jessie Armstead will also be in attendance Friday night, thanks to the generosity of Peter Grandich. Armstead played 11 seasons in the NFL and was a three-time All-Pro and five-time Pro-Bowl selection. He is also a member of the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame and helped the Hurricanes win four national championships.

Armstead will sign autographs and meet fans from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in the clubhouse before doing a TV interview and co-hosting the fifth race “Turkey Trot.”

November 28e also kicks off Meadowlands Racetrack’s annual Toys for Tots fundraiser featuring retired NY Jets wide receiver Quincy Enunwa.

Everyone is welcome to donate new, unwrapped toys until Friday, December 12e. The US Marines Toys for Tots and Quincy Enunwa will personally deliver the collected toys on Tuesday, December 16e afternoon for children from SBH Health System – a Safety Net Hospital in the Bronx, NYC.
