Meadowlands details PK8 transfer rules

East Rutherford, NJ – The Meadowlands Racetrack would like to explain the PK8 payout on Friday, February 6. The initial seed money was treated as “new money” on the first night of the deployment, so the first night pool totaled $54,998 ($50,000 seed money + $4,998). The night’s payout was $13,561.40 for a single 7-for-8 ticket.

Now that there is a transfer of $40,684, normal transfer rules apply on Friday, February 13. If there are no 8-out-of-8 winning tickets, 25% of the new money wagered in the pool will be paid out after withdrawal; the remaining 75% will be carried over to Saturday, February 14.

“We understand there was some confusion regarding the first night’s payout,” said Meadowlands COO/GM Jason Settlemoir. “We wanted to make it clear to all our customers exactly how the initial starting money of $50,000 was classified. Going forward, standard transfer rules will apply to this PK8 bet. We hope this new bet resonates with our customers.”

If the bet closes (8 for 8), the next round of $50,000 with posted money is classified as carried over; it will not be treated as ‘new money’. There is no mandatory payout date for the PK8.

PK 8 details:

  • Minimum bet of $1
  • The bet covers races 3-10
  • If a player picks all eight winners and holds the only ticket, he takes the entire pool. If there are multiple winners, the pool will be divided among those with eight correct winners
  • If the bet fails, 25 percent of the new money in the pool is paid out to those with the most winners, with 75 percent of the pool being transferred.
