McLaren’s latest MSO project combines superb supercars with daring artistry.
McLaren’s MSO, or McLaren Special Operations department, specializes in adding bespoke touches and unique flair to its historic motorsports manufacturer programme, transforming lightweight, powerful and beautiful supercars into unique statements of automotive excellence and collector-worthy masterpieces. MSO’s latest project is Project Chromology, which is not just any MSO project, but a custom McLaren 750S created in collaboration with renowned British abstract artist Nat Bowen.
Known for exploring the psychology of color through her resin-based works, Nat Bowen’s art is full of unabashed, bold color, which was translated into the supercar when MSO and Nat Bowen came together for Project Chromology. Debuting as part of the ongoing Miami Art Week festivities, Project Chromology features a new, innovative layered paint finish, the MSO Chromatic Layered Finish, on its unique exterior. In a first for McLarenThe exterior has a changing depth and tone, a heightened texture and a dynamism that can be seen and felt everywhere.
A select group of customers will have the opportunity to become owners of Project Chromology McLaren750S examples, and each unique assignment will include a color palette created with Bowen’s artistic themes as inspiration. Additionally, in a first for MSO, the car will feature distinctive 24-carat gold-plated badging. MSO’s new Project Chromology combines bespoke luxury, artistic, unique design, meticulous craftsmanship, innovative engineering and of course the outstanding supercar performance of the new McLaren 750S. It’s a combination of McLaren’s automotive excellence and Nat Bowen’s artistry.
