During Maxxine Dupri’s Intercontinental title challenge against Becky Lynch on the November 17 edition Monday evening Raw on Netflix, Lynch’s No. 1 nemesis AJ Lee headed to the ring and distracted the champion, giving Dupri an opportune moment to dive in and get the pin, claiming her first major championship in WWE.
To celebrate this shocking upset, the muscular beauty then took to Instagram to share a celebratory leg workout. “Train legs with your IConic Champ,” the windy girl invited, posting a video demonstration for her more than 600,000 IG followers. Here’s how you can try it yourself:

Maxxine Dupri’s training schedule
Behind Maxxine Dupri’s jovial social media post was a seriously hyped-up gym session. The Californian bonebreaker, billed at 6-foot-4, got to work on her quads by deadlifting with a supination (palms up) grip on the barbell. Supinated grip deadlifts place less strain on the wrist than a pronated (overhand) grip, while also reducing slippage. During the deadlift, Dupri loaded her glutes, hamstrings, lower back and even her biceps, shoulders and core. A great way to start.
Second, the Intercontinental Champion performed banded dumbbell box step-ups and step-downs to further hammer her core quads and core. The control required here also recruits the posterior leg muscles, including the glutes, hamstrings, abductors, adductors, hamstrings and calves. When Dupri moved on to the knee-strap barbell back squats, she was able to use the resistance band between her knees to provide even more tension during the concentric (decreasing) phase of the movement, which made the muscles work harder. Once again, the girl in gold contracted her glutes, quads, and hips while recruiting the core for stabilization.
For the champion’s penultimate exercise, Dupri showed her tenacity with some TKE squats, adding extra weight with a kettlebell in the cup position. The trick here is to focus on getting up from the squat, using as many quads as possible, to really feel the burn. Before hitting the shower, Dupri rounded out her leg day with strapped Spanish squats, holding the squat rack for extra support as she pounded her quads into submission. With the band wrapped around the knees (use a heavy band), Dupri again struggled with her quads and glutes. In response to the replays Dupri shared on Instagram, fans were quick to express their support. “I’m excited about all the incoming IC title content,” one follower wrote. “Ideal lifting strap,” wrote another.
The new Intercontinental Champion also received strong support from her professional wrestling peers. “Got it, girl!” wrote Brie Bella. “Legs for days, champ!” added Nattie Neidhart.
Less than impressed, however, was former IC champion Becky Lynch. “Squatting with a stolen championship title is illegal!” she said angrily. “So it’s not below parallel squatting! Must be top now! Those reps don’t count, just like your victory on Monday!” Bitter, Becky Lynch?
For her part, Maxxine Dupri is still basking in the glow of her big title win. “Legday hits are different in gold,” she beamed.
