Max Holloway doesn’t like the idea of facing one UFC featherweight known for his exciting fighting style.
Holloway is the BMF champion and many are wondering if he is on a collision course to face former UFC lightweight champion Charles Oliveira. The two have expressed interest in the fight. They already shared the Octagon in 2015, but that ended in the first round due to an injury to Oliveira.
While “Blessed” likes the idea of facing Oliveira, the same can’t be said for Jean Silva, who recently said it would be a dream come true if he could face Holloway on the UFC White House card. During a livestream on Kick, Holloway mocked the idea of sharing the Octagon with Silva (via MMAfighting).
“Does he smoke dope? Holy f*ck,” Holloway said on Kick. “Didn’t he see what Diego Lopes just did to him? This guy must be trolling us, brother. … That motherfucker still has a concussion, brother.
“Whatever he says, we’re not going to take it seriously. Dude, stay concussed, buddy.”
As far as whether or not he believes a White House fight is possible, Holloway reminded fans that there is still plenty of time before the fights are decided for the event.
“The White House card is so far away,” Holloway said after UFC Rio. “It’ll take about a year, guys. I don’t know if I want to wait that long, but we’ll see what happens.”
