Maruti Suzuki chairman Hints to a huge fall in price in Alto K10, Wagonr Post GST Rejig; Here are the expected prices for all models

Maruti Suzuki chairman RC Bhargava welcomed the recent tax reforms of the government and called it a milestone movement that could offer much-needed lighting to the car sector.

“Well, first, the congratulations are not thanks to me, the congratulation must be given to the prime minister and the Minister of Finance for the implementation of such a huge reform measure just for Diwali. And you are absolutely right, I think that with this reform measure everyone will see somewhere on our board and Maruti will see that the gradually disappearing butter said, he said.

The car industry has been under pressure in recent months, with lower demand and rising costs. Bhargava admitted that although the tax cuts were on time, the short -term prospects were limited in view of the limited time that remains in the current tax.

“Well, we are talking about a very short period of time. The festival season is just around the corner and there is only so much that you can happen in this short period that you will appreciate. This measure is not for a month or two months, this reform measure is a long -term measure that will influence the economy. The result of this growth in the small car will start to grow with about 7% a year.

In an interview with Business Standard, Bhargava said that the price of the Alto of Maruti could fall with RS 40,000-50,000, while the entrywagonr may see reductions between RS 60,000 and RS 67,000. Business officials still work out the details, he added.

Bhargava said that car prices can lower by 9 percent instead of 10 percent, because the decision of the GST Council does not take into account the transport costs of car manufacturers and margins for dealer.

In the recent GST reforms, the government announced that small gasoline, LPG and CNG cars under 1,200 cc and 4,000 mm length, and diesel cars below 1500 cc and 4,000 mm length, now attract 18 percent GST instead of 28 percent. Larger cars are taxed at 40 percent, while the stop has been canceled.
