Mark Bates Ltd Cadet & Under-17 Nationals 2026: Draws published – Table Tennis England

The draws for the Mark Bates Ltd Cadet & Under-17 Nationals in Nottingham next month have been announced.

Several defending champions, or those who have won titles in other age groups, will take part in the competition at the David Ross Sports Village, Nottingham, on the weekend of March 7-8.

There will be a new winner of the Cadet Boys’ Singles as the champion of the past two years, Abraham Sellado, has stepped up.

Dimitar Dimitrov is the top seed, with Pablo Ramirez Rioja in second. Third seed Oscar Nikolli is in Dimitrov’s half of the draw and fourth seed Ryan Holland is in Ramirez Rioja’s half.

London Academy’s Soraya Rahmani-Walentynska won the Cadet Girls title last season, beating Hannah Saunders of Archway Peterborough.

Both return this year but cannot meet in the final as they are both in the top half of the draw and qualified for the semi-finals, with Saunders as the top seed and Rahmani-Walentynska third. In the bottom half, Alyssa Nguyen is second seed and Amber Lemmon is fourth.

Sellado, who won both age groups last season, can now concentrate solely on the older group and is second seed behind Max Radiven. There could be a repeat of last year’s Cadet final in the semi-finals, with Sellado meeting third seed Kacper Piwowar.

Radiven has fourth seed Jake Davidson in its half of the draw and, intriguingly, two of the top four Cadets – Dimitrov and Holland – in its group.

Last year’s girls champion, Ella Pashley, has advanced to the juniors, leaving defeated 2025 finalist Sienna Jetha as the top seed.

Jetha is seeded to meet fourth-ranked Rahmani-Walentynska, her London Academy colleague, in the semi-finals. In the bottom half, second seed Brooke Morris and third seed Catherine Lv would meet in the last four if the rankings go.

The competition includes singles and doubles categories in both age groups, as well as mixed doubles for under-17s. The Under-17s play on Saturday and the Cadets on Sunday.

In the Under-17 doubles, only half of last year’s winning combinations return for the boys and girls. Max Radiven’s partner Harry Randall is no longer eligible, so he teams up with Oscar Nikolli – they are second seeds behind Sellado & Piwowar.

In the Girls, Pashley’s progression to Junior means Jetha will now team up with Rahmani-Walentynska as she looks to retain the title – the pair are top seeds ahead of Saunders and Eva Eccles.

The Mixed will see all-new champions as Isaac Kingham and Pashley are no longer eligible. Last year’s second-place duo has split up, as Jetha is now playing alongside Radiven, as top seeds, while her former partner Piwowar is now with Morris and seeded second.

In the Cadet Boys, Ramirez Rioja won together with Adam Alibhai last year, but the latter has taken a step further, making Ramirez Rioja now a partner of Dimitrov. They are top seeds, ahead of Nikolli & Nishil Shah.

Among the girls, last year’s champions, Evie Knaapen and Catherine Lv, have moved on to Under-17. The top seeds are Lemmon & Nguyen, with Assil Sarri & Rahmani-Walentynska in second place.
