The operation comes with a recovery period of three months, so he is expected to be ready for the spring training 2026.
Mayer, 22, went into the season as a top-20 prospect consensus in sport. Bregman (156 WRC+) earned his third career All-Star Nod and has been a game changer for Boston’s line-up on third base, while Trevor -Story has been reflected in years of injury-reunited campaigns such as a roughly average (98 WRC+) everyday shortstop. That is the left side of the club’s infield, and while the struggles of both Mayer and Kristian Campbell have made the second base a bit of a question mark, super utility man Ceddanne Rafaela Introducing itself in the Keystone in the midst of a decent offensive season of his own (97 WRC+). Colleague-younger Kristian Campbell is also available to help with the second base, although he struggled after a hot start of the year and currently regularly receives repetitions at Triple-A.
Looking ahead to next year, the Red Sox figure to have a shame of wealth on the positional side of things.
