The Sixth Indian Open of Surfing (iOS), a national surfing competition sanctioned by the Surfing Federation of India (SFI), will be organized on Tannirbhavi Eco Beach in Mangaluru from 30 May to 1 June.
A quoting AV Ramana, chairman of the New Mangalore Port Authority, said a media statement: “It gives us a huge pride to return as a title sponsor of the Indian Open of Surfing. Mullai Muhilan MP, deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada, said that Karnataka tourism is proud to continue his long-standing association with the Indian Open or Surfing. The state strives to promote adventure tourism and coastal development by such platforms, he said.

Rammohan Paranjape, vice -president of SFI and director of Mantra Surf Club, said that the NMPA iOS has grown in shape every year, thanks to the constant support of government and business partners. “Hosting on the local beaches of the state reflects our dedication to cherishing local surf culture while delivering an athlete experience of world class. We are convinced that this year’s edition will increase India’s status on the worldwide surf card,” he said.
The NMPA iOS will witness the participation of the best surfers of India in four categories: Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Groms (U-16) Boys and Groms (U-16) Girls.
