Manchester United is reportedly considered to Jose Mourinho as a potential alternative to Ruben Amorim, according to Signings.
It would be quite surprising if they decided to move for the 62-year-old after they had fired him in the past in 2018. The Portuguese manager has previously managed Manchester United and he led them to the EFL Cup, the Community Shield and the UEFA Europa League win.

He is currently out of a job after he was fired by Fenerbahce in August, and it will be interesting to see if Manchester United decides to bring him back to the club. Things did not go according to plan for Amorim, and Manchester United is struggling after a disappointing start to the season.
Despite a considerable support on the transfer market, Amorim has not succeeded in getting the best out of his team. Bringing in a quality manager can be a wise decision for Manchester United, but a movement for Mourinho may not go well with the fans.
Man United has to focus higher
Although he has an impressive track record of winning trophies, he is no longer at the height of his management career. Manchester United must try to focus higher. It is still to be seen how the situation unfolds.
It is unlikely that Amorim will be shown the door immediately, and Manchester United will probably continue to exist with him for the time being. However, the Portuguese manager is clearly on thin ice. The results must improve soon, otherwise he can be shown the door.
As far as Mourinho is concerned, the possibility to return to the Premier League can be quite exciting. He won the competition title three times during his time at Chelsea, and there is no doubt that he has the experience to manage the largest clubs in the world. A return to Old Trafford, however, seems nothing more than a rumor at this stage.
