Sancet perfect for the system of Amorim
If Bruno Fernandes were to leave Manchester United, they would need an equally capable substitute to take over as captain and Athletic Bilbao’s Oihan Sancet fits the bill perfectly, especially in Ruben Amorim’s system.
He is an attacking midfielder by nature, but he also adapts very well into a double turn, with his key attributes including solid vision, precise passing and a very accurate ability to break the lines with his dribbling. Sancet’s shooting from distance is also brilliant.
At 25, the best years of his career are yet to come and there is every reason to think he will become one of the best in the world in his position, especially after scoring 20 goals and assisting in all competitions for Athletic Club last season.
Oihan Sancet is valued at £61m by Athletic Bilbao and has a contract until 2032, so they will have strong negotiating power over his potential sale. It will be interesting to see if Man United are willing to match his asking price.
