Jake Matthews and his team will submit an appeal after his controversial loss of submission of the third round to Neil Magny at UFC Perth.
In the first round, let Matthews sank in a guillotine choke, and with another second on the left the referee stopped the fight. Magny, however, immediately came up again and protested, which led to the referee he never really stopped with the fight and that the match would continue. Matthews had a solid second round, but Magny collected and served the Aussie in the third round for a comeback victory, which resulted in a lot of controversy.
After the controversial loss, Matthews and his team will appeal against the result, referring to the referee who stopped the match, his management team confirmed to Bjpenn.com.
“Yes, we will be attractive,” sent Matthews management in an e-mail to Bjpenn.com.
The hope is that the fight will be destroyed into a NO competition. The Matthews management team believes that the fight should not have started again after the referee had stopped.
