Manager gives rough injury update for Diego Lopes after UFC 325 loss to Alexander Volkanovski

Not only did Diego Lopes fall short at UFC 325, but he won’t leave Sydney unscathed.

Lopes challenged Alexander Volkanovski for the UFC featherweight championship last Saturday. Volkanovski already scored a victory over Lopes in April 2025, and history repeated itself. “The Great” won via unanimous decision in the rematch, and Lopes may need significant time to heal.

Jason House, the manager of the No. 2 ranked UFC featherweight, revealed on Instagram Stories that his fighter may have had two breaks on Saturday.

“Looks like we broke both feet,” House wrote. “Some nights you’re at the after party, some nights you’re in the ER.”

There’s no word on how long Lopes could be out of action. If both of his feet are indeed broken, it would be a tough situation for the 145-pound title contender.

During his post-fight interview with UFC Hall of Famer Daniel Cormier, Lopes explained what went wrong against Volkanovski.

“I think Volkanovski is one of the best guys in the division for this,” Lopes said. “He made a lot of things round by round. I think the first round was a little closer. In the second round he came back better. So step by step he made different things. Yeah man, I don’t think I have many words for this moment.”

Lopes now finds himself further away from the UFC featherweight title after dropping two bouts to the reigning champion. He was on a five-fight winning streak before his first loss to Volkanovski. Lopes has now gone 1-2 in his last three appearances.

BJPenn.com will keep you updated on Lopes’ medical status following his manager’s injury update.
