Manchester United left-back Patrick Dorgu will have to play for at least ten weeks after an injury Laurie Whitwell.
Sunday’s victory over Arsenal in the Emirates brought mixed feelings for the Dane, who had earlier put United ahead with a brilliant strike from distance before his afternoon was cut short by a physical problem about half an hour later.
Substitute Benjamin Sesko took his place in the 81st minute, with interim boss Michael Carrick later suggesting the problem was likely cramp, explaining after the match that it seemed minor, saying: ‘In the end he came away with a bit of a cramp; Hopefully it’s nothing worse.’ It’s hard to say at this stage so we’ll just have to wait and see, but we’re hoping it won’t be too bad.’
However, a recent report shows that the Dorgu are in for a long period on the sidelines the Athletics‘S Whitwell claims the 21-year-old will be on the sidelines for at least ten weeks.
The journalist adds that scans were carried out into the nature of the injury, which showed that the Denmark international suffered a hamstring injury.
Although the exact duration of his injury is still under investigation, the injury is more serious than the cramp injury previously expected, the report said.
The timing comes at a worse time for Dorgu, especially given how much he has flourished since Carrick moved him to a left-wing attacking role, having previously played mainly as a full-back under former manager Ruben Amorim.

That excellent performance against Arsenal followed his goal in the Manchester derby a week earlier, taking his Premier League performance to three goals and three assists from 22 games this season.
An absence of around ten weeks would see his comeback in early April, potentially lining him up for a return when Leeds United travel to Old Trafford on April 11.
It represents a significant setback for United, who have shown renewed momentum under interim boss Michael Carrick, with Dorgu a key figure on the left flank.
The youngster is now sidelined alongside centre-back Matthijs de Ligt, who has missed the last eleven games due to a back injury.
The Red Devils are firmly in the race for a place in the top four and will be hoping for three wins when they host Fulham on Sunday, February 1.
